Day 5

Buenos Dias! The sun is finally shining here!!! It kind of feels like when the sun finally came out in Noah’s Ark. Yesterday was my first time to see the sun since arriving here. Although it is beautiful outside, it is a bit chilly. I have learned to never leave the house without an umbrella (un paraguas) or a jacket (una chaqueta).

Yesterday was the hardest day for me since arriving. I felt nauseous all day long. Martha, my housemother made me a special soup for lunch and made me Mint Tea last night. This morning she made me rice cereal, tea, and toast and said that I should not have dairy for a while. One of my housemates said that she was sick for three days and Martha put her on a very strict diet ☺ She said that after a while Kiki (another housemate) had to sneak her food because Martha was so strict. Martha is so cute!!!

Today at 11:30 I am going to help Martha cook lunch. She is teaching me and Matt (my housemate) how to cook Chile Poblano. She did say this morning that I am not allowed to eat it though ☺ I will be cooking Chile Poblano, but will probably be eating more rice cereal.

Much Love,

Katie
One of the main streets that I pass through everyday to get to school

Teatro Juarez is the meeting spot in GTO. It is also a famous theatre.
Jardin de la union is in the city center. It muy bonito!

Great pictures Katie. I honestly wish I were there learning Spanish. Your blog is Belle's bedtime story.

I definitely think you are exactly where the Lord wants you to be. He is teaching you so much!
